The ReGIS protocol is a kind of vector/polygon graphics protocol proprietary to DEC environments. It is often seen in conjunction with Sixel, but is not the same thing. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Newsgroups: comp.terminals, sci.electronics.repair References: <38oopqF5nb2lnU1@individual.net> <00WVd.278$Ql3.62@news.itd.umich.edu> <7WgVd.199$Ql3.139@news.itd.umich.edu> <112bemrmfm8lo4e@corp.supernews.com> <112gdcl10dom047@corp.supernews.com> Message-ID: <112hi20kf02nt63@corp.supernews.com> Date: Fri, 04 Mar 2005 20:42:40 -0000 From: Thomas Dickey Subject: Re: VT4xx or VT2xx emulators In comp.terminals Richard S. I don't have a test for that, but thought it implied that dxterm would support soft fonts as well. But it doesn't (or else the test I wrote against a VT420 is too fragile to work with a second terminal ;-) -- Thomas E. It's not cheap, but I haven't found any DOS-based terminal emulator that *tries* so hard as ZSTEM. It can do 132 columns on an VGA or Hercules display, and even manages 128 columns on CGA. Useful if you want to press some old PCs into service as terminals. Incidentally, KEA! 420 for Windows is a pretty good (but pricey) product, also by Attachmate. -- / Conrad Longmore / De Montfort University, / Tel: (01234) 351671 x273 / / IT Services / Bedford, United Kingdom / Fax: (01234) 351966 x377 / /-----------------/--------------------------/ Fax: (01234) 217738 / / chl@dmu.ac.uk / "So it goes." / Mobile: (0374) 747631 / ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Attachmate: this vendor was previously known as "KEA Systems Ltd."
